Etched-slate sundial picnic table

As part of a one-off commission for Melbourne Science Park in Cambridge we produced this striking kirkstone slate-etched sundial of three metres diameter. The slate face sits on sturdy Douglas Fir baulks which offer seating for up to 24 people. The gnomon is made of one 6 metre length of hand shaped Spruce standing at an angle of 52 degrees and aligned accurately with true north.
